How to best navigate the energies of the Solar and Lunar Eclipse
MARCH 2026
by Martha Clarke
We recently had the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on Tuesday 17th February at 12.12 CET and
fast on its heels we now have the upcoming Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on 3rd March at 11.38 am
CET. Eclipses happen roughly every six months and are regarded as major portals of change,
sometimes unconscious, some deeply conscious. What makes these two eclipses particularly
unique is that they happen almost at the pinnacle of the long- awaited Saturn Neptune
conjunction at 0% Aries, Cardinal Fire, the starting point of the zodiac cycle.
A conjunction is when two planets are within 8 degrees of each other and hence their
planetary energy is blended. The exact hit of this conjunction was 20th February and was then
followed fast by a major six planet line up; on 28th February – Mercury, Venus, Saturn,
Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune, were all stacked up together in the sky, visible just before sunset
(though you’d have needed binoculars or a telescope to see both Uranus and Neptune).
The last time we had Saturn and Neptune conjunct at 0% Aries was over 6,000 years ago.
The last time both planets formed a conjunction in our lifetime was 9th November 1989, when
the Berlin Wall collapsed. The time before that being the 1917 Russian Revolution.
We all know what collective change we are going through. It is no coincidence that events in
the USA have worsened, followed by the release of the Epstein files and their horrific details.
Or that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was arrested some days ago, followed by the arrest of
Peter Mandelson (former Minister of State for Northern Ireland and former UK ambassador
to the USA) as I was writing this article.
Saturn represents law, order, authority, structure, time and routine. Neptune represents ideals,
our higher vision, but also deception and deceit on a lower level. Hence the witnessing the
final collapse of our current world order as we know it on a titanic scale. The new world is
yet to be born. How will we create it? How will you create your new reality? What new
reality do you most desire?
The higher vibration of Neptune (compassion, boundless empathy) which the world
witnessed recently was the completion of the long march by a group of Buddhist Monks from
Fort Worth, Texas to Washington DC to promote compassion and mindfulness. A journey of
108 days and over 2,300 miles; many of the monks walking barefoot. We also saw Bruce
Springsteen announce a “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour across the USA, followed soon
after by U2 dropping a six song EP “Days of Ash”, their first new songs in almost a decade.
On – yes – the 18th February – the exact day of the Solar Eclipse.
Eclipses are portals where we are being asked to let go of that which no longer serves us, to
courageously embrace a new reality. In these increasingly troubled times, we are finally
seeing more people speaking out, and not just against what they see happening politically.
Artists and writers are pushing back against AI. People are leaving social media in the
hundreds of thousands. The Offline Club meetings (an organisation where you get to hang out
in a café for three hours or so without your mobile phone) are skyrocketing.
People are finally choosing to paint, write, draw, and walk in nature over endless scrolling.
The Solar Eclipse brought our suppressed hopes and dreams to the fore of our consciousness.
The upcoming Lunar Eclipse in the earthy, practical, service orientated sign of Virgo will
encourage us to take action towards this brave new world.
What will you create? What will you co create? How are you creating your new tribe of like
minded souls? If not now, when? Do remember, your soul chose to be alive for these
electrifying times. On a practical level, you can take long walks in nature, turn off your
phone, journal, paint, write poems, dream. Your body is needing lots more sleep right now,
along with extra doses of healthy food.
Never in the history of the last 6,000 years has there been a time when it is more important to
slow down and be intentional with your thoughts, deeds, words and actions.
Bless you all.
