Updates from Uganda – With Love and Gratitude
Dear Sisters,
We are writing to you today with hearts full of gratitude and hope. Because of you, and the incredible group of donors we have brought together, lives are being transformed in Muguluka and Kamuli, Uganda. What once seemed impossible is now unfolding—thanks to your generosity, compassion, and belief in the mission.
This is where your donations go—directly into the hands, hearts, and futures of women, children, and families working to build a better life.
Here is a glimpse of what you have helped make possible over the past few weeks:
Health & Healing: A New Era of Care
We began with a health sensitization session focused on Ebola and other chronic diseases, raising awareness and strengthening prevention. Then, with the funds you helped raise, we created a dedicated medical space near the Muguluka school, furnished with a cot, mattress, sheets, a shelf, medical supplies, and a stocked first aid kit.
Most exciting of all, we’ve hired a full-time nurse, Judy, who now serves the children and local community every day—providing care, comfort, and continuity.
Last Wednesday, a mobile clinic treated over 50 patients, including 30 people living with HIV and 6 with malaria. On Friday, our team traveled to Kamuli, a remote area with no health services. There, they provided care to 110 people, with 33 malaria cases and 15 known HIV+ patients receiving essential treatment. Sadly, over 100 more people were left unseen due to time and supply constraints, but HEFO will now visit monthly to continue this life-saving work.
Agricultural Project: Growing Hope
Your continued support is keeping the vegetable farming project alive and thriving. Thanks to your donations, we’ve provided pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides—helping crops flourish and feeding families in the process.
Crafts & Culture: Walking with Pride
The crafts project is a beacon of creativity and empowerment. When you visit Uganda—and we truly hope you will—you’ll be able to choose from handcrafted Ugandan footwear and traditional African wear, created by the talented women you’ve supported.
Menstrual Health & Dignity
We held powerful menstrual health talks and distributed the remaining menstrual cups, along with sanitizer and liquid soap. These small yet essential items promote dignity, health, and educational continuity for girls and women.
Faith, Light & Unity
Through your donations—and with Amira personally present—we were able to donate floor mats and connect electricity to the Mosque in Kamuli-Buwoya, wishing our Muslim brothers and sisters a joyful and peaceful Ramadhan. It was a moment of unity, light, and deep connection.
A Personal Note of Thanks
To our cherished sisters, supporters, and friends:
None of this would be possible without you, and the generous group of donors Amira has gathered around this vision. Together, you have lit fires of hope across a nation. You’ve brought healing, dignity, education, and strength to women and children who once had none.
We hope with all our hearts that one day soon, we will be able to visit this beautiful country together. To walk the red soil roads of Muguluka and Kamuli, to shake hands with those you’ve helped, and to celebrate the impact we’ve created—side by side.
Until then, know this: your kindness is changing lives. And we are forever grateful.
With heartfelt love and gratitude,
